AN ASSISTANT professor from the University of Santo Tomas  has received the Award for Valuable Social Impact of the Year from the London School of Digital Business.

Christian Rey D. Rimando, who also serves as Assistant Director of the Simbahayan Community Development Office, received the award last week at the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry in the United Arab Emirates.

Rimando was recognized for his contributions to community service and education, particularly through initiatives that integrate service learning into academic and social engagement programs.

“Rimando, who previously served as Community Development Coordinator of the College of Rehabilitation Sciences, helped champion service learning and community development initiatives in UST,” the university said.

The Award for Valuable Social Impact of the Year is part of the London School of Digital Business’s Education Awards Programme, which recognizes individuals and organizations that make significant, positive contributions to society.

The award specifically honors those who demonstrate a strong commitment to creating meaningful and measurable benefits for communities beyond conventional business or academic success.
