/ 14 February 2023

THE UNIVERSITY of Santo Tomas partnered with the University of Adelaide in Australia to boost its medical-related research and consulting services in various areas.

The Center for Health Research and Movement Science of the College of Rehabilitation Sciences of the UST collaborated with JBI of UA on “evidence-based practice, wellness and promotion, musculoskeletal research, community-engaged research, pain management, pediatric occupational participation, rehabilitation innovations, technological advances, and neuroscience and rehabilitation.”

Under the partnership, JBI will support the CHRMS-JBI Affiliated Group through trainings and collaborations.

Dr. Professor Valentin Dones III will serve as the director of the CHRMS-JBI Affiliated Group, while Mark Angel B. Serra will be the deputy director.

CHRMS is the only JBI affiliated group in the Philippines.

“At CHRMS, we believe in the importance of using systematic reviews and clinical practice guidelines to inform decision-making in the healthcare industry,” it said.

The college added that evidence-based practice “is a crucial part of our work, as it lets us use research evidence to inform healthcare decisions and improve patient outcomes.”

“We aim to put plans into practice for the successful delivery and evaluation of EBP-based interventions. We seek to integrate EBP into healthcare policies and public health settings,” it added.
