UST, BIÑAN CITY PARTNER FOR CULTURAL HERITAGE MAPPING PROGRAM
THE UNIVERSITY of Santo Tomas Senior High School has partnered with the Biñan City Government’s Culture, History, Arts, and Tourism Office to launch a joint Cultural Heritage Mapping Training Program.
The three-year collaboration was formalized through a Memorandum of Understanding signed last month.
The program aims to strengthen cooperation between the academic and local government sectors in promoting cultural awareness and community development.
Designed as a capacity-building and professional development initiative, it will involve both faculty members and students from all SHS strands in cultural learning and documentation activities.
The training will contribute to the upcoming Cultural Heritage Mapping Book 2, which will feature curated accounts of Biñan’s historical, cultural, and artistic heritage.
Representing UST Rector Rev. Fr. Richard G. Ang, O.P., PhD, Senior High School Principal Assoc. Prof. Mary Erika N. Bolaños, LPT, PhD, signed the MOU alongside Biñan City officials led by Mayor Angelo B. Alonte and Vice Mayor Jonalina R. Reyes.
Bolaños was joined by key SHS administrators and program chairs, reaffirming UST’s commitment to community engagement and the preservation of Filipino culture through education and research partnerships.
