UST ALUMNUS WINS INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY CHAMPION AWARD
AN ALUMNUS of the Graduate School of Law of the University of Santo Tomas won the Intellectual Property Champion award.
Allan B. Gepty, Undersecretary of the Department of Trade and Industry, received the award from the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines during the Gawad Yamang Isip Awards Night held earlier this week.
The award honors two stalwarts who have contributed significantly to developing the country’s intellectual property system.
Gepty was recognized for his invaluable contribution during his stint as the Deputy Director General and Officer-in-charge of IPOPHL.
“During his term, the GS Law faculty member reinforced and developed the said government unit’s advocacy, policy-making functions, international relations, and programs,” UST said.
The theme of the event was “IP and the SDGS: Building our common future with innovation and creativity” and caps the National IP Month.
IPOPHL is the government agency mandated to administer and implement State policies on intellectual property.
