USF, ATENEO REAFFIRM GLOBAL JESUIT PARTNERSHIP

/ 25 January 2026

THE UNIVERSITY of San Francisco strengthened its long-standing academic ties with Ateneo de Manila University as USF President Dr. Salvador Aceves paid a courtesy visit to Ateneo President Fr. Roberto C. Yap SJ.

The meeting highlighted both institutions’ shared commitment to Jesuit education and international collaboration, built on more than two decades of partnership.

Dr. Aceves was joined by USF officials Marcy Potter and Krittaya Pichitnapakul, while Fr. Yap was accompanied by senior Ateneo administrators, including Fr. Joaquin Jose Mari C. Sumpaico III SJ, Dr. Roberto Martin N. Galang, Fr. Raymund Benedict Q. Hizon SJ, and Ms. Cristina M. Alikpala.

USF and Ateneo have been bilateral partners since 1999, collaborating on student exchanges, study abroad programs, faculty-led mobility, and the Philippine Studies program.

Their cooperation expanded in 2024 through the Academic Global Immersion Program, which has brought 28 USF students to Ateneo and will welcome a third cohort in March 2026.

The discussion explored ways to deepen collaboration in mobility programs, alumni engagement, and institutional support, concluding with an exchange of tokens symbolizing continued friendship and future cooperation.
