USEP WARNS VS SHARING OF ACADEMIC DOCUMENTS

/ 13 May 2021

THE UNIVERSITY of Southern Philippines on Tuesday asked its constituents to refrain from sharing academic documents to platforms which are not recognized by the university.

The warning was issued in compliance with the Intellectual Property Code of the Philippines.

The university urged those who uploaded such materials to immediately take them down.

Failure to comply to this request will result in prosecution, it warned.

“The University is enjoining all students, faculty members, and other personnel to REFRAIN from publishing, uploading, or sharing academic documents such as but not limited to, course packs, assignments, thesis, and copyrighted creations on these or any websites not recognized by the University, or in any other platforms,” it said on Facebook.

“As a matter of course, those who have uploaded materials on these websites must take them down and/or remove them immediately. The University through the Office of Legal Affairs (OLA) is currently checking options to prosecute those who will be identified as uploaders and sharers of such documents, in violation of the laws cited hereinabove,” it added.
