USC PHARMACY PROGRAM EARNS FAAP LEVEL IV ACCREDITATION
/ 24 January 2026
THE BACHELOR of Science in Pharmacy program of the University of San Carlos (USC) has been granted Level IV accreditation by the Federation of Accrediting Agencies of the Philippines (FAAP) through the Philippine Accrediting Association of Schools, Colleges and Universities, the highest recognition for pharmacy programs in the country.
The distinction positions USC as the first and only FAAP Level IV–accredited pharmacy program outside Luzon and only the second nationwide to attain the prestigious status since its initial accreditation in 2002.
The accreditation cited the program’s sustained excellence in licensure examination performance, advanced faculty qualifications, innovative teaching practices, global engagement, modern facilities, strong industry partnerships, impactful community extension work, and research productivity in drug discovery and development.
USC’s recognition comes on the heels of being named a Top Performing School by the Professional Regulation Commission in the November 2025 Pharmacists Licensure Examination, after posting a 100 percent overall passing rate—marking the university’s 20th such recognition since 1996.
As a regional leader in pharmaceutical education, USC has expanded access to advanced training through its CHED-approved post-baccalaureate programs, including the Master of Science in Pharmaceutical Sciences and the Doctor of Pharmacy.
The achievement was credited to the leadership of the School of Healthcare Professions under Dean Gerard Lee L. See and Department of Pharmacy Chair Florencio V. Arce Jr. The FAAP Level IV accreditation remains valid until February 2028.
