USC APPOINTS NEW PRESIDENT

THE University of San Carlos in Cebu City appointed Fr. Francisco Antonio Estepa as its new president.

Estepa was formally installed as the 12th university president last week.

He served as the 8th president of the USC from 1999 to 2002.

Estepa earned his doctorate in educational administration from The Catholic University of America in Washington in 1997. He completed his Master of Arts in Philosophy at the Divine Word Seminary in 1984, where he also earned his degrees in AB Philosophy and Theology.

He aims to focus on academic excellence, research and innovation, community engagement, local and global partnerships, technology and infrastructure, enhanced students’ campus experience, and good governance.

He also plans to “pursue USC’s ISO accreditations while also setting sights on potential accreditation by the Philippine Quality Award in the future.”

He said that USC will be guided by an organizational structure that fosters effective communication, synergistic collaboration and unwavering accountability.
