Jarin presented a paper on literature “Ang Paglalandas ni Leoncio P. Deriada: Pakikipanayam Sa Apat na Manlilikha Ukol sa Pagpapauswag ni Deriada sa Panitikan ng Kanlurang Bisaya bilang Panitikan ng Banwa at Bansa.”

Meanwhile, Dr. Barrios and Geraldoy read a paper on literature “Imahe ng Pinuno ayon sa Leksikon ng Pagdumala: Si Salagunting bilang Timawa sa Nobelang Margosatubig ni Ramon Muzones.”
The research sheds light on the characteristics of Munzones’ ‘timawa’ and how these traits are reflective in the country’s politicians like former Senator Rodolfo Ganzon, the school said.
Jundos and Cartagena, meanwhile, presented papers that tackle children’s experiences.
Jundos’ paper titled “Exploring Learner’s Agency: The Lived Experiences of Primary School Learners during the COVID-19 Pandemic” tackles how primary school learners coped with the challenges of having to undergo the sudden change of learning modalities at the height of the pandemic, UPV said.
Cartagena’s study “Local Music, Movement, and Play Activities in Developing Musical Sensitivity and Creativity among Ilonggo Children” discussed how music, movement, and play activities could be of great help when integrated into daily learning in a classroom setting.
Meanwhile, the seven Grade 12 students are Toni Maxinne Advincula, Hannamae Aling, Athena Calonia, Krisna Ellah Clarito, Althea Marie Francisco, Lizette Abigail Jundes, and Marielle Soloveres.
They presented their study “Migration Propensity: UPHSI Students’ Attitude Towards External Migration” which discussed the brain drain phenomenon and looked into the perceptions of Grade 12 UPHSI students on the possibility of migrating to other countries and the various factors that contribute to it.
Jundos served as the research adviser of the students.
The conference was organized by the Dalubhasaan ng mga Umuusbong na Mag-aaral ng Araling Filipino of the College of Liberal Arts of De La Salle University, Manila in cooperation with Silliman University. It was held from June 1 to 3, 2023.
