UPV PROF ELECTED AS MEMBER OF BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF PH ECONOMIC SOCIETY

A PROFESSOR from the University of the Philippines Visayas was elected as a member of the board of trustees of the Philippine Economic Society.

Dr. Alice Joan Ferrer, dean of the College of Arts and Sciences, will join six new members of the PES board composed of representatives from education, government, and private sector.

Ferrer will be serving for two years, starting January 2024.

They will join seven other continuing members of the board of trustees.

The Philippine Economic Society is a non-stock, non-profit organization founded in August 1962.

Its primary purpose is to foster and encourage professional relations among economists and seek to improve the standards of economic research and instruction in the Philippines.
