UPV HIGH SCHOOL STUDENT BAGS AWARDS IN MLA DANCE PRIX 2024
A GRADE 10 student of the University of the Philippines Visayas High School bagged multiple awards in the MLA Dance Prix 2024 held recently at the Maybank Performing Arts Theater in Taguig City.
Ayanna Fuerte won gold in Contemporary Dance and Best Performer for her solo “Abyss”, while also claiming silver in the trio performance “Habangbuhay.”
In Classical Ballet, she earned gold for her solo “Coppelia Swanhilda Act I” and for her group performance of “OPM Classics,” which also won Best Performer in its category.
Overall, Fuerte ranked Top 2 based on her contemporary and solo performances. Her choreographers were Pauline Cordero-Dingcong and Pearl Cordero.
In June, Fuerte won two silver medals in Contemporary Dance and Classical Ballet at the International Ballet Grand Prix 2024, along with scholarships to The Place, School of Performing Arts in London, and IBGP 2025.
She later represented the Philippines in the IBGP 2024 Grand Finals in Singapore, where she earned two bronze medals and a scholarship from La Salle College of Arts Singapore.
