UPLB STARTS CONSTRUCTION OF NEW LIBRARY AND KNOWLEDGE CENTER
THE CONSTRUCTION of UP Los Baños University Library and Knowledge Center is under-way.
The facility with an ultramodern design is expected to be finished in two years.
During the groundbreaking rites on Sept. 4, UP President Danilo Concepcion said that the uni-versity and the Department of Public Works and Highways are committed to finishing the pro-ject.
The center will rise beside the Graduate School complex.
The ULKC will house major learning and teaching support units including the University Library, the Interactive Learning Center, the Information Technology Center, and the executive offices of the chancellor and the vice chancellors.
“The construction of the ULKC is part of our ongoing efforts to ardently upgrade UPLB’s facili-ties, and to provide an enabling and inspiring environment for the UPLB community,” Chancellor Fernando Sanchez, Jr. said.
The ULKC was designed by Arce-Bailon-Arce Architects and is being constructed by DevEx Inc.
