THE UNIVERSITY of the Philippines-Los Baños signed partnership agreements with two higher education institutions in Taiwan for academic and research programs.

The UPLB Executive Committee composed of the chancellor, vice chancellors, deans and a director visited the cities of Kaohsiung and Taipei earlier this month.

The university signed a memorandum of understanding with Kaohsiung Medical University College of Life Science to pursue academic, educational and research cooperation.

Chancellor Jose Camacho, Jr. represented UPLB, while Dean Chang Hsueh Wei signed for KMU-CLS during the ceremony.

UPLB also formalized a similar cooperation agreement with the National Taiwan University College of Bioresources and Agriculture. NTU-CBA was represented by Dean Huu-Sheng Lur.

“This was an offshoot of a visit of delegates from NTU to UPLB in January 2023 wherein the two parties held initial discussions on the possible joint offering of dual degree programs,” UPLB said.
