UPLB SIGNS AGREEMENTS WITH TWO GOV’T ORGANIZATIONS
THE UNIVERSITY of the Philippines-Los Baños signed partnership agreements with the Philippine Tax Academy and the Cooperative Development Authority to implement capacity-building programs.
The school said that the cooperation with the government offices will highlight the synergy between the academe and government agencies.
“It showcases how collaborative efforts can significantly contribute to national development goals,” it added.
The agreement with the PTA aims to train the academy’s personnel in using the Geographic Information System technology in tax mapping.
This will be made possible through the College of Forestry and Natural Resources and Training Center for Tropical Resources and Ecosystems Sustainability.
“This is to enhance the competencies of PTA personnel in using GIS technology, specifically by facilitating accurate tax mapping and ensuring equitable and efficient revenue generation that reflects the true valuation of natural resources,” the school said.
Meanwhile, the partnership with CDA was formalized by the Institute of Cooperatives and Bio-Enterprise Development.
“ICOPED will equip trainers with the latest methodologies and practical knowledge towards the advancement of the country’s cooperative industry,” UPLB said.
