UPLB OFFERS FACILITIES AS VACCINATION SITE
THE UNIVERSITY of the Philippines Los Baños on Monday offered its facilities to be used as Covid19 vaccination site.
“UPLB officials headed by Chancellor Jose Camacho, Jr. and the Los Baños local government unit led by Mayor Antonio Kalaw have undertaken talks on how the university can help in the ongoing vaccination against Covid19,” the university said.
“These include providing venues and tapping UPLB medical professionals,” it added.
The university said residents of Los Baños, Laguna under priority A2 (senior citizens) will be vaccinated at UPLB’s Baker Hall.
“Vaccination will be on April 22, 23, and 24 with 150 vaccinees targeted per day. Vaccinees will be notified by text or call and no walk ins will be entertained,” it said.
The Commission on Higher Education earlier said that 17 colleges and universities, mostly in National Capital Region, agreed to have their facilities used as vaccination sites.
CHED Chairman Prospero de Vera stressed that the country will need more vaccination centers as the government ramps up its inoculation program.
“Twenty other higher education institutions have expressed willingness to convert their facilities into Covid19 vaccination sites,” De Vera said.
