UPLB INKS COLLABORATIVE PACT WITH A JAPANESE FIRM
THE COLLEGE of Engineering and Agro-industrial Technology of the University of the Philippines Los Baños has signed a research and internship agreement with a Japanese company.
The Memorandum of Agreement with the Philippine Manufacturing Co. of Murata Inc. was signed by Chancellor Fernando Sanchez, Jr. and CEAT Dean Arnold R. Elepaño on behalf of UPLB, and PMM President Masayoshi Koda and General Manager for Administration Mikito Yamada.
Both parties agreed to develop collaborative activities such as internship for CEAT students, job placement, joint research programs, consultancy/technical advice, training programs and seminars, and other activities on the basis of equality and reciprocity.
CEAT Associate Dean Myra Borines and members of the college executive committee, and PMM human resource team led by Senior Manager Masaru Kurihara witnessed the virtual signing ceremony.
The MOU signing was made possible through the help of a chemical engineering alumnus now working at PMM.
Built in 2012, PMM is a Japanese manufacturing company in Tanauan City, Batangas. It develops, sells, and exports electronic components and ancillary equipment parts and consumables. It is also involved in related software development and maintenance activities.
