UPHSI GETS P10-M BUDGET FOR IMPROVEMENT OF FACILITIES

/ 12 January 2024

THE University of the Philippines High School in Iloilo received P10 million in funding for 2024 under the General Appropriations Act.

UP Visayas said the budget will be used to renovate the high school building and improve other facilities.

“This initiative is part of UPHSI’s commitment to ensure that facilities meet international standards,” it said.

The renovations will include replacement of existing floor finishes, ceiling, doors, windows, furniture, fixtures and partitions, lighting fixtures, electrical system, fire and alarm system, and repainting.

A portion of the budget will also be used to landscape the space fronting the UPHSI building.

Additionally, the renovation will cover the faculty room, which will address the lack of a conference room, spacious pantry, individual work areas, and a common room.

UPV said it got a bigger budget with the help of Sen. Sonny Angara and the efforts of Ret. Justice Francis Jardeleza, a UPHSI alumnus.
