UPD STUDENT WINS IN KOREAN SPEECH COMPETITION
A STUDENT of the University of the Philippines Diliman bagged the top prize at the 26th K-Speech World Contest held in Changwon, Korea earlier this month.
BA Linguistic major Lanalee Gale Landingin delivered a speech titled “The Philippines in the midst of Hallyu, Hallyu in the Philippines.”
Landingin detailed her thoughts on the influence of Hallyu on the Philippines and how Korea and the Philippines are building friendlier relations through cultural exchange and understanding.
K-Speech World Contest was co-organized by the Korean Speech Association and the Changwon City Government.
The competition was sponsored by the South Korea Ministry of Sports, Culture and Tourism, the Ministry of Education Ministry of Foreign Affairs Ministry of Unification, and the Geyongsangnam-do Provincial Government.
Australia, China, East Timor, France, Iran, Japan, Malaysia, Mongolia, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam joined the competition.
