UP VISAYAS PARTNERS WITH PANDAN LGU

/ 27 December 2022

THE UNIVERSITY of the Philippines Visayas has forged a partnership agreement with the local government of Pandan in Antique.

UPV Chancellor Clement Camposano and Pandan Mayor Tomas Estoperez agreed to collaborate on more programs that will benefit Pandan and the nearby towns of Antique and Aklan.

The university said the agreement was sealed after the initial meeting of the two officials at the Pandan Municipal Hall earlier this month.

“Also discussed during the talks was the UP Antique Extension Campus and its target opening in the early part of 2023,” UPV said.

“Training programs on fisheries and local crafts are expected to be the initial offerings by next year, which will be followed by a Master of Education program in the future. The meeting was facilitated by Anna Razel L. Ramirez, UPV Project Development Assistant for Antique,” it added.

The university said the structure for the extension campus is 95% complete.

The construction of the UP Antique Extension Campus was made possible through a budget appropriation of former Deputy Speaker and now Senate President Pro Tempore Loren Legarda in the amount of P50 million.
