THE University of the Philippines Visayas and the National Taiwan University have joined forces for academic and cultural exchanges.

Through the College of Fisheries and Ocean Sciences, UPV Chancellor Dr. Clement Camposano and NTU President Dr. Wen-Chang Chen led the signing of the memorandum of agreement.

Former CFOS dean Prof. Encarnacion Emilia S. Yap and NTU College of Science dean Dr. Chun-Chieh Wu also signed the agreement.

Under the agreement, both institutions will share educational and research undertakings in all areas and disciplines.

Specifically, UPV-CFOS and NTU, through its College of Science, agreed to promote exchange of faculty members, researchers, undergraduate and graduate students, publications, and research results.

“The collaboration was made possible through the efforts of Asst. Prof. Dr. Cristy S. Acabado, director of the Institute of Marine Fisheries and Oceanology, CFOS,” UPV said.

“NTU is the most recent addition to CFOS’ list of overseas partner universities, and the fifth from Taiwan joining National Taiwan Ocean University; Biodiversity Research Center, Academia Sinica; National Taiwan Normal University; and National Chiayi University,” it added.
