UP VISAYAS LAUNCHES REMOTE LEARNING AID FOR STUDENTS, TEACHERS

/ 15 October 2020

THE UNIVERSITY  of the Philippines-Visayas’ Teaching and Learning Resource Center has launched its Virtual and Remote Assistance in Learning Program which aims to help students and teachers cope with the demands of remote learning.

“TLRC Howdy is an online and mobile help desk intended for beginners and computer novices who do not have the mastery of using the basic computer operation and online resources,” the university said.

“Anytime during office hours, students and teachers can log in their queries on how to go about opening an app, using an app, pasting a file, uploading a video, among others. In line with this, TLRC Howdy introduces TELETAB or the TEaching and LEarning Technical Assistance Bot to assist clients with basic queries and concerns regarding TLRC programs and technical software,” it added.

Students who need tutorial assistance in Math, Chemistry, Physics, and Communication can avail of the online peer mentoring services to be handled by student tutors.

TLRC also posts links to webinars and online resources and publishes a schedule of webinars and online conferences that teachers and students can attend or participate in.

It also has a ‘modest’  facility for basic audio and video recording including a laptop, microphone, webcam, digital camera, video camera with tripod, headset, and a HI-speed internet connectivity.

The recording booth is open from Monday to Friday during office hours.
