STUDENTS who want to participate in face-to-face classes should ensure that they have registered with the Philippine Health Insurance Corp., the University of the Philippines said.

UP said that it wants to ensure the safety of the students as it gradually opens its doors for in-person classes after two years of online learning.

Vaccination and having medical insurance are required of UP students who participate in physical classes for the second semester of Academic Year 2021-2022, the university said.

The medical insurance requirement is in line with the guidelines of the Department of Health and Commission on Higher Education.

A joint memorandum circular issued by the DOH and CHEd requires colleges and universities to ensure that students who will attend physical classes are covered with health insurance.

If a student gets infected with Covid19, the school shall facilitate the treatment of the learner.
