UP MANILA HEALTHCARE WORKERS GET ANTI-COVID19 JABS
SOME 300 healthcare professionals of the University of the Philippines-Manila were vaccinated against Covid19 early this week via the Philippine Red Cross’ “Bakuna Bus.”
PRC Chairman and CEO Senator Richard Gordon said that the vaccination drive was held in recognition of UP Manila’s response to the pandemic.
“We should protect our healthcare workers and their families. Ilalapit natin ang mga bakuna sa ating mga frontliners na hindi pa nababakunahan. Isa sila sa mga pinakaimportanteng mabakunahan dahil sila ang mga taong araw-araw na humaharap at lumalaban sa Covid19,” Gordon said.
The vaccination drive was also in line with PRC’s efforts to ensure the well-being of future healthcare workers and to protect the academe.
“With this activity, UP Manila hopes to inspire others to get vaccinated. Even the experts of UP Manila believe in the science of vaccination with almost 100% of its personnel already vaccinated,” Gordon said.
UP Manila Chancellor Carmencita Padilla thanked Gordon for recognizing the important role of the university in the national response against Covid19 and for ensuring that the campus is a safe haven for students.
