UP LAW STUDENTS FINALISTS IN ASIA-PACIFIC MOOT COURT COMPETITION

STUDENTS of the University of the Philippines College of Law bested the representatives of the Singapore Management University and emerged as finals winners in the Asia-Pacific Rounds of the 2020-2021 Price Media Law Moot Court Competition.

The UP Law 2020-2021 Price team is composed of Aloysius Bresnan, Angela Casauay, Bob Ecarma, Beata Carolino, Diego Lacap and Edna Africa.

Casauay was hailed as the finals’ Best Oralist while Bresnan was recognized as the 2nd Best Oralist in the preliminary rounds.

The UP Law team also garnered the Best Memorial Runner-up award.

As finalists, the team will advance to the International Rounds set in April 2021 and will compete against teams from South Asia, Asia-Pacific, Southeast Europe, Northeast Europe, Middle East, Africa and Americas.

UP Law Professor Rommel Casis mentored the team together with Professor Michael Tiu Jr. who served as the assistant coach.

Held virtually from December 23-25, 2020, the 8th Annual Asia-Pacific Regional Rounds was organized by the Bonavero Institute of Human Rights of the University of Oxford in partnership with the Law School of Renmin University in China.
