UP EXTENDS FILING OF APPLICATION FOR GADGETS AND INTERNET SUBSIDY

/ 30 September 2020

THE OFFICE of Student Financial Assistance of the University of the Philippines extended anew the filing of application for gadgets and internet subsidy following the emergency system maintenance of PLDT.

“To accommodate students applying for financial and learning assistance and those affected by the AAG emergency repair works, the second round of application will be extended to October 2,” said the school in an advisory.

The release of the results will be on Oct. 3 and the submission of appeals will be from Oct. 4 to 7.

The office said students applying for financial and learning assistance will have to log-in at slasonline.up.edu.ph through their respective UP email accounts, while students who have not yet received their official UP email must coordinate with the Student Affairs or Student Financial Assistance Office of their campus to proceed with the application.

Meanwhile, the UP System has also launched a fundraising and resource generation campaign known as ‘Kaagapay sa Pag-aaral ng Iskolar ng Bayan’ to equip more than 5,600 financially-challenged students with computers or laptops and internet connectivity they need to pursue their degrees.

“We do not want to cut short the discovery of intelligence through learning and research. And if anyone is in danger of being left behind, we will find a way to make sure they are with us,” the university said.
