THE UNIVERSITY of the Philippines Diliman is the top school in the Philippines based on the latest university rankings by EduRank.

The university edged out other higher education institutions in research outputs, non-academic prominence and alumni influence.

It ranke 378th in Asia and 1,380th in the world.

“The rankings are determined by analyzing 373K citations received by 30.4K academic publications made by 229 universities from the Philippines, the popularity of 889 recognized alumni, and the largest reference database available,” EduRank said on its website.

De La Salle University was the second best school in the country, followed by the Ateneo de Manila University.

Other schools in the top 10 are the University of Santo Tomas, UP Manila, UP Los Baños, University of San Carlos, Mindanao State University, Asian Institute of Management and Mapua University.

EduRank is an independent metric-based ranking of 14,131 universities from 183 countries. It uses proprietary database with an index of 44,909,300 scientific publications and 1,237,541,960 citations to rank universities across 246 research topics.

In the overall rankings, it adds non-academic prominence and alumni popularity indicators.
