UP BAGUIO SUSPENDS EXAMS, SUBMISSION OF REQUIREMENT

/ 1 November 2021

THE UNIVERSITY of Baguio postponed all examinations and suspended the submission of all requirements scheduled on November 9 to 10.

UP Baguio Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs Rosemary Gutierrez released a memorandum addressed to all college deans directing them to suspend the submission and postpone the exam two days after the reading break.

“Students requested this so that they could have a more relaxing reading or wellness break, instead of preparing for requirements and/or examinations,” the memorandum said.

UP made the move after the students, through the UP Baguio University Student Council, asked the administration to suspend the deadlines and examinations.

“We welcome the issuance of this memo by the OVCAA and enjoin administrators from other universities to also heed the calls of students for an academic break. Education will never be of quality if students are tired and burnt out,” UPB USC Chairperson Cheska Kapunan said.
