AN ALUMNUS of the University of the Philippines’ College of Medicine was among the awardees of the National Academy of Science and Technology this year.

Dr. Ourlad Alzeus Tantengco received the Outstanding Young Scientist Award.

The OYS award is given to young Filipino scientists who made significant contributions to science and technology.

The college commended Tantengco for his achievement.

“The MD-PhD (Molecular Medicine) program proudly congratulates our graduate, Dr. Ourlad Alzeus Tantengco, for being awarded by the National Academy of Science and Technology as 2023 Outstanding Young Scientist,” it wrote on Facebook.

The NAST aims to recognize outstanding achievements in science and technology as well as provide meaningful incentives to those engaged in scientific and technological research.
