UNIVERSITY OFFICIAL FROM JAPAN VISITS UP VISAYAS

AN official of the Koichi University in Japan visited the University of the Philippines-Visayas to discuss a possible partnership between the two schools.

Dr. Satoshi Kubota, head of the Kuroshio Science Graduate Program of KU, met with officials of UPV to discuss plans with the university.

“Dr. Satoshi Kubota met with Hanny John Mediodia, Assistant to the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs-International Linkages; Dr. Liah Catedrilla, College of Fisheries and Ocean Sciences representative; Asst. Prof. Ma. Ramela Angela Bermeo, BS Biology representative; and Dr. Wilfredo Campos, a faculty member from the Division of Biological Sciences,” UPV said.

“Catedrilla and Bermeo presented their revised program offerings during the implementation of the K-12 curriculum, adjustments made during the transition period, and feedback on student performance under this scheme,” it added.

Kubota’s visit was part of a project of KU which aims to strengthen future academic exchanges with their institutional partners.

He also visited other partner universities in the country to identify means of bringing the Philippine programs closer to their own graduate programs.
