THE UNIVERSITY of San Carlos emerged as the champion in the Accounting Quiz Bowl organized by Cebu Federation-Junior Philippine Institute Accountants.

USC accountancy students successfully defended their championship titles in Level 1 and 2 of the competition.

Junior students Rieko Maria Diaz and Mathia Ruiz represented the school in the competition’s level 1 category. Diaz also won first place in the individual category while Ruiz ranked fourth.

Meanwhile, senior students Kyra Shane Buhia and Rica Mae Albison were the champions in the Level 2 category. In the individual round, Buhia secured first place while Albiso won second.

The Level 1 of Quiz Bowl focused on Intermediate Accounting, Cost Accounting, Conceptual Framework and Accounting and Standards, and Law on Sale, Obligations and Contracts.

Level 2, meanwhile, was about Advanced Accounting, Management Accounting and Control, Auditing and Assurance, Taxation and Regulatory Framework for Business Transaction.

The quiz was part of the activities conducted to celebrate Accountancy Week 2021 and was held virtually via Zoom which was also streamed on the Facebook page of CF-JPIA.
