UNIVERSITY OF SAN AGUSTIN AND EMPLOYEES’ UNION SIGN CBA

THE UNIVERSITY of San Agustin, Inc. (USA) and its Employees Union have signed a Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA).

According to USA, the agreement, which will be in effect until 2029, is the result of months of meaningful dialogue and mutual respect between both parties. The length of the negotiations reflected a shared commitment to thorough review, ensuring fairness, dignity, mutual respect, and collective responsibility.

The new CBA was formally executed on January 22, 2026, concluding negotiations that began on May 8, 2025.

The signing ceremony, witnessed by Atty. Chaneen Abolucion, Senior Labor and Employment Officer and representative of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), marked a significant milestone in the institution’s labor relations.

USA Employees Union President, Asst. Prof. Teresita Silma B. Balgos, described the CBA as a shared responsibility to uphold the dignity of work while advancing the university’s educational vision and mission.

Meanwhile, University President Rev. Fr. Arnel S. Dizon, OSA, framed the agreement as both a recognition of past contributions and an investment in future collaboration.
