UNIVERSITY OF SAINT LOUIS TUGUEGARAO RESUMES F2F CLASSES

/ 28 October 2021

THE UNIVERSITY of Saint Louis in Tuguegarao City resumed limited face-to-face classes for medical technology and nursing programs on Tuesday, October 26.

“Nursing and Med-tech were already given a permit to conduct limited face-to-face classes,” Dr. Dindo Asuncion, academic dean of USL’s School of Health and Allied Sciences, said.

“The next thing we will do is to prepare the Pharmacy program and related documents needed to apply for face-to-face classes,” he added.

Alvin Aldea, MT program head, said that USL adopted measures to ensure the safety of students. The school established a Campus Health and Safety committee, retrofitted its facilities, and formulated a cyclical shifting model for laboratory classes.

“Safety measures include enforcement of the health and safety policies of USL, and stakeholder’s compliance with the minimum public health standards,” Aldea said.

Last January, President Rodrigo Duterte allowed the conduct of limited F2F classes for medicine and allied health courses.

So far, over 180 higher education institutions had been authorized to conduct physical classes for at least 300 programs.

More schools have requested to be allowed to conduct in-person classes since President Duterte approved limited classes for other courses such as Engineering and Technology, Hospitality/Hotel and Restaurant Management, Tourism/Travel Management, Marine Engineering and Marine Transportation.
