UNIVERSITY OF CEBU LAW PROVIDES LEGAL SERVICES IN CEBU

/ 27 February 2023

THE UNIVERSITY of Cebu’s School of Law gave free legal advice to children with errors in their birth registration.

The move is part of the Legal Aid and Clinical Legal Education Program’s “Rehistro Ko, Kinabukasan Ko” project, which aims to address erroneous birth registrations.

Last February 25, over 100 children and their parents went to Tajao Central School in Pinamungajan, Cebu where they received legal advice.

Pinamungajan councilor Atty. Honeylette Yapha-Lingad served as the notary public and supervising lawyer to the law student practitioners.

“At UC Law, we help secure better future for the children through the programs we bring to the communities that we serve. We also prepare our students to become well-rounded, socially responsible, and practice-ready legal professionals,” the university said.
