THE University of Baguio held a seminar about the responsible use of Artificial Intelligence for the academe, in a bid to integrate new learning systems among its students.

UB said that holding seminars for AI use is needed, as its development is helping with convenience and learning, and is an important step in the learning curve of students.

Part of the seminar also discussed the ethical use of AI for learning and helping develop the field of education.

“Though the field of AI offers a great opportunity for developing personalized learning, enhanced engagement, and improved outcomes, it is important to keep in mind that there are still ethical limitations that need to be considered,” UB said on its website.

A total of 200 participants attended the seminar, and the majority of the attendees were high school students.

AI use in the academe has garnered mixed reactions, where some comments noted that this will negatively affect student learning, while others stressed its role in the future of education.
