THE University of Baguio inked a partnership with the Baguio City Transportation and Traffic Division, the Department of Transportation, and the United Nations Development Programme to support the Transportation Engineering Program of the school.

The partnership has an estimated value of two million pesos which was used to hand over the new educational equipment such as smart televisions and desktops to the university.

This handover aims to improve the Transport Engineering Program of the university as UB is the first university that offered and established the program.

The initiative also intends to enhance the quality of education while supporting and promoting innovation and research about low-carbon transportation.

“Through it, the School of Engineering and Architecture (SEA) aims to build future professionals who will be able to come up with solutions that will mitigate and control the negative effects of the rising carbon emission in the city,” the school said.

SEA Dean Jeferd Saong expressed his gratitude to the agencies for the beneficial partnership that will highlight the university’s efforts to climate action initiatives in support of low-carbon transportation.

The university hopes to make a good impact in the community by making it more sustainable and by providing aid or support in the fight of the country against climate change.
