THE UNIVERSITY of Antique warned the public against individuals using the name of the institution to solicit money.

The UA President’s Office was informed that its name is being used by some people to solicit money allegedly for feeding programs for Persons with Disability.

UA also apologized for the “inconvenience”the incident brought.

“We would like to remind everyone to be cautious and vigilant when receiving unsolicited calls or messages, and to always verify the information provided as well as the identity of the person or organization before providing any personal of financial information,” it said.

“If you have been a victim of this scam, we encourage you to report it to the concerned authorities as soon as possible,” it added.

The office also asked individuals who will encounter such incidents to coordinate with the university or concerned authorities.
