UNIVERSITY OF ANTIQUE IMPLEMENTS NO PLASTIC POLICY
THE UNIVERSITY of Antique has implemented a ‘No Plastic’ policy to help promote sustainability on the campus grounds.
The policy is part of its “Bring ALong with U for NAtures Nurture” program that aims to reduce the use of single-use plastic.
Beginning May 3, the University banned plastic food containers, encouraging its community to turn to “green” alternatives.
Under Officer Order No.04-33 of the UA Office of the President, the university laid down new rules for business enterprises, students, parents, guardians and visitors.
Violators of the policy face a string of penalties including a fine of P500, revocation of lease agreement for business enterprises and black listing of students.
Guardians, parents, and visitors will also be penalized if caught violating the policy.
