THE UNIVERSITY of Perpetual Help System Laguna on Monday said that a netizen who supported the killing of Sonya Gregorio and her son Frank by a policeman is no longer connected to the school.

The person involved was called out for airing his support for the slaying of the Gregorios. He said that if he were in the policeman’s position, he would have done the same thing.

The school condemned the former student’s insensitive comments and sent its condolences to the family of the victims.

“It is unfortunate that in this tragedy, the name of the University of Perpetual Help System Laguna has been included because of a negative comment of a supposed FORMER CRIMINOLOGY student. The Facebook profile of the said commenter indicates he ‘studies Criminology at the University of Perpetual Help System JONELTA-.’ We deem it necessary to inform everyone that said commenter is not connected or more so enrolled in the University of Perpetual Help System Laguna-Jonelta System,” the school said on Facebook.

“We owe it to our public and most especially to our fellow Perpetualites to say that the only student who may match the description of the commenter on social media left the University in 2007 for academic reasons. Needless to say, said student did not acquire a degree from the University,” it added.
