UM STUDENTS WIN GLOBAL TRAVEL AND TOURISM RESEARCH AWARD

/ 23 October 2023

A GROUP of students from the University of Mindanao won the Global Travel and Tourism Partnership Research Award this year.

Christian Joseph Bulac, Ram Michael Genovia and Nisarre Dianne Sarip bested other students from other countries.

Themed “Building a Resilient Workforce for a Sustainable Future,” the event asked participating students to consider creative ways to illustrate key recommendations that could help ensure a sustainable talent pipeline for the future of the sector at local level.

Each year, the GTTP holds a competition for the best school research project on a given topic where students develop their research, analytical and communication skills.

It is an endowment established in honor of Aldo Papone, former president of American Express Travel Related Service Company.

When Papone retired, a fund was established in his name to support excellence and innovation in tourism education. The GTTP’s share of the fund is used to support the research competition.
