UE STUDENTS WIN IN HUAWEI ICT COMPETITION GLOBAL FINALS

STUDENTS of the University of the East ranked third in the Cloud Category at the Huawei ICT Competition Global Finals.

The UE team was composed of BS in Computer Engineering students Angelo Laguinlin, Jerwin Christian Samala and Ralph Khen Adrian Cuveas.

They were mentored by Dr. Nelso Rodelas, who also served as their adviser.

“The UE team’s particular achievement, which they attained on May 26, is a key milestone for the University and the country and was a demonstration of the young learners’ extraordinary talents and proof that Filipinos can prevail among nations,” the school said.

“They brought respect to themselves by achieving in a competition of this kind and became a testimony to the high-quality education provided by the University,” it added.

For the global finals, over 400 students and 146 teams from 36 countries competed for the awards. The finals were held from May 24 to 28 at Huawei Base, Shenzhen, China.

The Huawei ICT Global Competition is an extensive annual contest participated in by more than 120,000 students from over 2,000 universities in 74 countries.

The competition provides participants with a platform to compete and exchange ideas, thus enhancing their ICT knowledge and practical skills.
