UE STUDENTS, PROF PARTAKE IN BANGKOK BUSINESS AND INDUSTRIAL RESEARCH CONFERENCE

STUDENTS and professor from the University of the East presented their research paper at the 8th International Conference on Business and Industrial Research held in Bangkok, Thailand.

Titled ‘Tracking Input Devices to Detect Cheating Using Machine Learning Techniques’, the paper underscores the usage of an ensemble model from machine learning models such as Logistic Regression, Support Vector Machines, and Random Forest.

It significantly highlights the successful detection of cheating examinees in online examinations.

The study was authored by UE College of Computer Studies and Systems students Ralf Martin Tabo, John Christian Tiosan, Virgilio Lopez Jr., Angelo D.R. Altoveros, and Renz Darryl Manangat.

Lopez presented the paper during the conference on the team’s behalf.

Prof. Melie Jim Sarmiento, CCSS Department of Computer Science chairperson, served as the group’s adviser.

The event was organized by the Institute, Technology Promotion Association, and the Artificial Intelligence Association of Thailand.

It was held at E Building of the Thai-Nichi Institute of Technology last May 18 and 19.
