UE STUDENTS BAG AWARDS IN HUAWEI ICT COMPETITION FOR ASIA PACIFIC
TWO teams from the College of Engineering of the University of the East-Caloocan bagged awards in the Philippine round of the Huawei ICT Competition for Asia Pacific 2022-2023.
TWO teams from the College of Engineering of the University of the East-Caloocan bagged awards in the Philippine round of the Huawei ICT Competition for Asia Pacific 2022-2023.
BS Computer Engineering students Christian Samala, Angelo Laguinlin and Ralph Khen Adrian Cuevas were declared champions in the Cloud Track category.
They were mentored by Dr. Nelson Rodelas.
On the other hand, BSCpE students Kim Hernandez, Royvee Magno and Charles Kendrick Magalued were the 1st runner-up in the Network Track category.
Dr. Alexis John Rubio served as their coach.
Cuevas was one of the three highest individual scorers in the Cloud Track theoretical examination, while Royvee Magno was one of the three highest individual scorers in the Network Track competition.
“The topics under the Network Track were Data Communication, and Routing and Switching, while the Cloud Track covered Cloud Computing, Artificial Intelligence, Big Data, and Storage,” UE said.
UE’s Cloud Track team bested the representatives of the University of San Carlos, Panpacific University North Philippines, Angeles University Foundation, UM Digos College Davao, University of Santo Tomas, De La Salle University, STI College, Southville Luzon State University, Batangas State University, Polytechnic University of the Philippines, Mindanao State University-Iligan Institute of Technology, and Cebu Institute of Technology University.
The Cloud Track team will represent the Philippines in the regional round of the Huawei ICT Competition for Asia Pacific next year, and will feature student competitors from Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, India, Hong Kong and Indonesia.
