UE STUDENT GROUP SEEKS GUIDELINES ON SCHOLARSHIP GRANTS
STUDENTS urged the University of the East-Manila to address concerns regarding scholarship grants for the 2021 summer term.
In a letter addressed to Scholarships Committee Director Ruth Palanca, the University Student Council demanded the immediate release of guidelines for scholarship.
“The college councils have been consistent in communicating with the office of scholarship committee likewise in the college office, however, there’s still no clear response coming from both offices,” the group said.
“The students are wondering if the same rules and guidelines from the previous years will be applied in the new academic year since we shifted into the new learning system,” it added.
The student body also wanted to know if scholars for the summer term would still be included in the seven-percent quota.
It sought explanation on the process of application for the scholarship grants.
“In these trying times, the students are hopeful and are being dependent with scholarship grants given the fact that most of us are really struggling because of the pandemic,” it said.
“We are hoping that these issues will be properly addressed. Given the situation that we are experiencing, we are hoping for your utmost understanding and compassion towards these concerns,” it added.
