THE UNIVERSITY of the East recently partnered with Huawei Technologies Philippines, Inc. to provide free training to its faculty members and students on courses related to information and communications technology.

The school said the collaboration is under the education program of HTP called “Huawei Authorized Information Network Academy,” a non-profit partnership program authorizing select universities and colleges to offer Huawei certification courses to their students.

Through the partnership, UE faculty members and students will have free training on ICT and acquire a globally recognized professional certification.

They will tackle several courses such as Routing and Switching, Artificial Intelligence, Cloud Computing, Big Data, the Internet of Things, Storage, Security, WLAN, 5G, and Intelligent Computing.

“UE’s becoming a Huawei ICT Academy is an industry-education cooperation project that will enable the University’s professors and students to be part of the ICT talent ecosystem,” UE said.

It added that the comprehensive trainings aimed to fill the gaps in digital transformation and development at large.
