THE UNIVERSITY of the East moved the opening of classes from August 2 to August 7 for all levels of its Manila and Caloocan campuses.

“Please be informed that the first day of UE classes of the First Semester of School Year 2023-2024 will now be August 7, 2023,” the school said in an advisory.

“The extended enrollment period after the first day of classes will still be August 23, 2023,” it added.

Several student groups asked the school to delay the opening of classes for Academic Year 2023-2024, saying most learners are not ready to attend classes due to personal concerns.

The groups said many students are having trouble finding dormitories.

They also asked the release of policies and guidelines for the upcoming academic year, especially those related “to the control and prevention of Covid19 and academic classes.”
