THE DELEGATION from the University of the East Manila earned its 11th consecutive Outstanding Delegation Award at the 46th YMCA National Congress of College Students held in Baguio City earlier this month.
Leading the UE delegation was Charlemaine Angelique Lopez, a senior BA International Studies student and University Student Council president, who also received the Outstanding Delegate award for the second year in a row.
UE Manila delegates excelled in various competitions, earning top honors, including 1st Runner-Up and Best Speaker in Debate, as well as multiple second-place finishes in quiz bee, spoken word poetry, essay writing, and photography contests.
Several UE delegates were also elected to leadership positions within the congress, including commission chairs, rapporteurs, and marshals, reflecting their active participation and leadership abilities.
The congress featured discussions on critical issues such as mental wellness, education for poverty alleviation, and environmental justice.
UE faculty members Dexter A. Villanueva and Prof. Reynalyn Elon-Tolentino played key roles in organizing and executing the event.
Themed “YOUnited Leaders: Bridging a Sustainable Society for Everyone,” the congress brought together 339 student delegates and 72 faculty advisers from 43 universities across the Philippines.
