THE UNIVERSITY of the East was listed as one of the top Philippine schools in terms of research productivity in the fields of Science, Engineering and Health, the Institutes for Research, Innovation, and Scholarship said.

IRIS unveiled the ranking during a webinar entitled “Research Dimensions in University Rankings: Snapshot of Philippine Universities” by Dr. Carlos Primo C. David earlier this month.

UE ranked 9th in research in the field of health, and 18th and 22nd in engineering and health, respectively.

David said that the university could have ranked higher in health if article citations have been considered.

IRIS rankings on research productivity are based on the cumulative publications and citations from Elsevier’s Scopus and Thomson Reuter’s Web of Science and the h-index.

It ranked 106 public and private universities in the country.

IRIS is a private educational, research and scientific organization that seeks to create pathways for collaboration among Filipino educators, researchers, scholars and innovators in the fields of science, technology, engineering, agro-fisheries and mathematics.
