FOR her contribution to clinical research and drug development, the president of the University of Cagayan Valley, Dr. Esther Susan N. Perez-Mari, was recognized by the provincial government of Cagayan.

Perez-Mari was conferred the “Gintong Medalya” for the Medicine Category by the Search for Dangal ng Lahing Cagayano, in celebration of the province’s 439th founding anniversary on Tuesday.

The provincial government honored outstanding Cagayanos who excelled and made great contributions in different fields and specializations.

UCV said that Perez-Mari was chosen for her broad and significant contributions to the field of oncology clinical research and drug development.

“As a renowned physician-scientist in this field, Dr. Perez-Mari’s clinical acumen and strategic leadership in Oncology Clinical Development Programs and expertise in the design and conduct of clinical trials included approximately 50 clinical trials,” it added.

Dr. Perez-Mari was featured in Who’s Who in America for her accomplishments, the university said.
