FOR helping an injured vendor, a nursing student from the University of Cebu-Banilad is now the toast of the town.

Angyl Faith B. Ababat, a 2nd year nursing student, rushed to help the vendor whose throat was slashed by her live-in partner.

The victim was immediately rushed to the hospital after receiving first aid treatment from Ababat.

UC said that the student has since been honored by the university for her “selfless” act.

“Faith in humanity restored by one of our nursing students. Kudos! Angyl for the kind deed and genuity that you showed to people in need,” UC said.

Ababat will receive an award from the Cebu City Police Office for her actions on February 6.
