UA&P GRANTED CHED AUTONOMOUS STATUS FOR 2024-2027
THE UNIVERSITY of Asia and the Pacific has been granted Autonomous Status by the Commission on Higher Education for the period 2024 to 2027.
UA&P was among 92 private higher education institutions recognized during an awarding ceremony held last month at the Philippine International Convention Center.
UA&P President Dr. Winston Conrad Padojinog and Vice President for Faculty Affairs Dr. Marya Svetlana Camacho represented the university at the event.
Under CHED Memorandum Order No. 07, Series of 2024, 77 private universities and colleges received autonomous status, while 15 HEIs were granted deregulated status.
The designations offer significant benefits, including the privilege for autonomous HEIs to launch new programs without prior CHED approval. It will be valid from September 16, 2024 to September 15, 2027.
The university was first granted autonomous status in 2017. It was renewed in 2019 for another two-year period, which CHED later extended until 2023.
